Just a little recipe to pass along today. I did some experimenting with the new blender over the weekend. What this drink is called, I have no idea. A friend of mine had it several years ago in the Bahamas.
You take lots of vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, milk, and rum: throw them in the blender. I recommend putting in the strawberries with the ice-cream first so you can get the correct consistency (like a milk shake). Then add the milk to thin it if needed.
Now add a touch a rum. When I say touch, touch like a raving lunatic is touched – a lot. When you think you put enough rum in, go ahead and put in a little more (sorry, it’s the recipe).
This thing will taste like a smooth strawberry shake, which removes your socks while still wearing your shoes. Just a helpful hint though, don’t use one of those rubber, long, squeegee things you use to scrape out cans and mixing bowls just after making a cake. I tried one of these, then something caught my attention and I let it go for a second. Just a second. I heard this horrible noise and the thing started jumping around.
Well, I got most of the pieces out, I think. I was serving it to some members of the Disc Space Conservation Society, I told them if they found any hard white things, it was OK to spit them out. They didn’t ask too many questions because it wasn’t their first serving. If you get interrogated by the DSCS this morning, just blame the bad mood on me – sorry! But it’s your own fault you didn’t erase these off the server.
