Hey Gang! (God, I sound like a flunky walk-on for Leave it to Beaver)
Our favorite comic strip is being converted to a movie. Computerworld is running a forum on who should be cast as the Dilbert Crew (you can check out this yourselves @ www.computerworld.com)
The Hunter Group’s basic premise is that, individually, we are better than anyone out there. As a group, the competition just lines up every morning to give us their lunch bag and milk money. We don’t ask, they know it’s ours anyway!
Well anyway, to the point. Below is a sample of someone else’s suggestion of who should be cast in the parts. We can do better than this (Michelle Pfeiffer as Catbert? I hope this person aint operating heavy machinery. E-mail me back your suggestions and I’ll submit them to the forum in our name. I can’t promise how democratic this will be, but hey, I’m not called The Poacher for nothing!
- Dilbert — Chris Elliott (has just the right air of well-intentioned befuddlement)
- Dogbert — Spuds MacKenzie (I hear he’s out of rehab now) with the voice of Jack Nicholson
- Ratbert — Dustin Hoffman (Ratzo Rizzo meets the Rainman)
- Catbert — Michelle Pfeiffer (donning her catsuit once again)
- The Boss — Danny DeVito (Witless People)
- Alice — Julia Louis-Dreyfus (born to play Alice — have you seen the way she slaps George around?)
- Wally — Wallace Shawn (My Dinner with Dilbert)
- Asok — Pee Wee Herman (rest in peace, Andy Kaufman)
- Phil, the Prince of Insufficient Light — Phil Hartman (but only if Jonathan Winters is unavailable)
- Bob the Dinosaur — Sly Stallone (perfect for the role of a creature evolution forgot)
